The section “Local sources” of the Review “Osservatorio sulle fonti” analyses the principal decisions of the Corte di Cassazione and of the administrative judge concerning local sources (statutes and regulations of Comuni and Province). Since 2010 also judicial decisions on major’s orders are object of study, even if they are not properly normative sources as they have an administrative nature. This work intends to offer a picture of the most important problems that judges have had to cope with (during the years 2007-2012) in order to systematize local normative sources in the Italian general system of sources. In addiction it intends to offer a summary of the questions which the power of order of the major (regulated by the Consolidated Act on Local Authorities) raise and how these questions have been solved by the judge.
